A daily travel and personal finance newsletter with 100K+ subscribers needed to scale editorial output without adding headcount. As managing editor, I built a four-layer AI editorial system — prompt libraries, golden checks, a known issues log, and workflow governance rules — that reduced editing time by approximately 40% while maintaining voice consistency and compliance standards. The system is embedded in daily operations and gets smarter over time as new failure modes are documented and fed back in.
L.A. Reported
L.A. Reported is a nonprofit local news startup founded by veteran journalists Scott Woolley and Karin Klein, formerly of Forbes and the LA Times. I came on as assistant managing editor to support the publication's launch, handling Substack configuration, UTM tracking, social media strategy, PR outreach, and contributor coordination. I also support the team with ad hoc AI applications including data visualization and editorial production tasks. The publication launched in January 2026 to strong early readership.
